13/12/23 - Rigging And Exporting Monster

Image
In today's lesson, I was finally created rigged models and exporting them to share to the rest of the group for our game. As I had uploaded my model into Mixamo in the previous lesson, I just needed to pick the animations that we wanted, and export them to download onto my computer. As a group, we decided on a running, idle and yelling animation, as we felt that this is all that we would need, and so I downloaded those ones and gave them to Spike to place into the game.  With help, we managed to get it to animate within the game, although because I had created it not in the centre of the Blender file, it wouldn't place properly and had a line connecting it to something which made it not work properly how we wanted it to, so to fix this issue, I had to move the original, reupload it into Mixamo, and redownload the animations to send over once again, to reimport it into the game. Luckily this version worked much better, and by the end of the lesson, we had got it working within t...

11/12/23 - Presentation And Mixamo

Image
In today's first lesson, I was  continuing the  presentation for my app. I was going through slide by slide, making basic notes on the pages for what I was going to say, and then in the notes sections, writing a more in-depth explanation about what I had done. I did this so that the viewers could only see so much, but that I would know what to talk about when describing each individua l  point, as only I would be able to see this. I also had to make sure that the layout of each page looked the same, so that everything was uniform and neat. In today's second lesson, I was   continuing to try and rig our model using Mixamo. Over the week I had been trying multiple different model variations and rigging softwares to try and get our model to move. Coming into today's lesson, I only had one more idea for what might work, as everything else had come up with an error so far. We had decided as a group, that if this last idea didn't work, then we were going to just pose ...

07/12/23 - HTML And Figma Alterations

Image
In today's lesson, we covered a more in depth overview of  the HTML coding language as a follow up from last week's lesson. We looked at html tags again, as a recap, and then went on to write our own basic html code in the notepad app. We then learnt about the different tags to change text to be bold and italicized, as well as how to highlight and sub/superscript text. After this, we learnt about character codes, and how to add links and images into our web pages. Following this, we looked into lists and tables, and finished off the work with how to comment on your code. After this, we were allowed to just work on whatever work we needed to do. For this, I was editing my Figma app, to add in a time and Wi-Fi, service, and battery icons. After I'd added these in, I had to slightly rearrange parts of my pages to all fit in better. I also added in coloured rectangle behind each sections of my app, so that it would be easier to see what pages did what at a quick glance at the f...

06/12/23 - Exporting Monster

Image
In today's lesson, I was trying to export my monster design and rig it using Mixamo. To begin the lesson, our group gathered together to see what everyone had been doing, and to see how much progress had been made on the main level. So far everything is looking really good, and it looks like we may even be somewhat close to finishing the game, just needing to finish the map and add in the monster model, to replace the cylinder being used at the moment. As I had finished creating the model, I was trying to export the file to upload into Mixamo to rig it up to different movements. However we soon realised that the model had over 31 Million polygons in it, so I took off almost all of the subdivision surface modifiers and selected the Shade Smooth options, to somewhat replicate the look that I had previously achieved. Doing this significantly lowered the amount of polygons within the model, however I was still struggling to upload the model into Mixamo. I tried to overcome this by crea...

04/12/23 - Presentation And Finalizing Monster

Image
In today's first lesson, I was working on creating my final  PowerPoint  presentation for my App. I based my presentation off of the guide that we were given, for what information should be mentioned on each page, such as the Product Brief and Business Plans, and how many pages each topic should cover.  I then added notes to each page, so that I knew what to say during the presentation, so that my pages were not full of text. I also added in animations and transitions, to bring the text in separately, so that the audience don't read ahead of what I'm saying and ask questions before I've explained the respective point. In today's second lesson, I was finishing my work on my monster's design. To do this, I tried to add in some new plane meshes and reshaped them to be rough, so that I could place some on top of the monster, and wrap some around the limbs. I added different materials to these shapes, some I added flesh textures (Including a burnt scalp with hair), s...
