31/01/23 - Premiere Workshop

Image
In today's lesson, we were carrying on with the editing of our Green Screen work on Premiere Pro. We began doing this, by taking the original mask that we had taken of the person walking across the screen, and making sure that we were completely happy with how this one looked.  We then clicked on the next frame button, until the person and mask moved. We then had to alter the pins that we had created within our original mask for the next frame's position. We then had to continue doing this for each individual frame, making sure that we were completely happy with every one that we had edited as we went along.

27/01/23 - Unreal Work

Image
In today's lesson, we got to begin learning about the program Unreal Editor, which is used to design games. To begin the lesson, we went through some information about the software that we were going to be using for the day, and once the program had been downloaded, we got to start up a new document, which we would be working on throughout the rest of the lesson to build up our skills within the software, as it was very new to all of us. On this new document, we firstly had to open the Project Settings option, and in the Inputs section, add in some new Action and Axis Mappings, as doing this would allow us to be able to program our character to move in different directions, as well as jump, sprint and crouch. We also had to create new folders for our Character and Movement items, so that we could single both out. We also had to add a camera to our character, so that when in first person perspective, you can see what is in front of you, from the eye-line of the character. We then ha...

26/01/23 - Premiere Green Screen Work

Image
In today's lesson, we started working on Premiere Pro, to edit green screen footage. We began the lesson, by discussing some of the questions we had answered on the questionnaire that we had to complete over the Christmas break. We talked about some of the questions and got taught as to why the answers were what they were, so we got to learn some more information about Luminance, how cameras work, and about different screen resolutions. We then had to move some files from the main hard drive, onto all of our own computers to work on later on in the lesson. After this, we had to create a new document on Premiere Pro, making sure that all of the files that we downloaded earlier were in the new document. We then had to select all of the TIF Files, which included all of the green screen footage, and created a new sequence containing only these particular clips. We then had to scale down the size of all of these clips, so that they fit within the safe zones within the 1920x1080 screen s...

Session 1 Follow Up Work

Image
For this work, we have had to research into three different examples of futuristic innovations that we found interesting. The topics that I have decided to research, are Self Driving Cars, Virtual Reality Devices, and Artificial Intelligence Robots. Self Driving Cars: - Ideas for self driving cars have been around since the 1930's. - The cars can detect other cars, pedestrians, and what lane you are in on the road. - There are 5 different levels of self-driving cars, based off of how automated they actually are. - Self-driving cars are supposed to be safer as they should be able to detect something going wrong and react to it, quicker than the human brain would be able to see and react to. Virtual Reality (VR): - Virtual reality was first created in the 1960's - Virtual reality is used for both more interactive gaming, but also to help improve different subjects advance, such as how medical teams use it to get a more realistic surgery practice. - You can now go to escape rooms ...

24/01/22 - Animate Work

Image
In today's lesson, we started to learn about how to use Adobe Animate. We began the lesson, by first covering what we would be learning over this next Semester, so that we would know what to expect in comparison to what we have already covered. After this, we opened Animate, to begin practicing using the software. We had to firstly create a new document, and we chose the size 'Medium Web', which was 800 x 600px, to practice on. We also had to make sure that we set the Frame Rate to 30.00, and made sure that we had the Platform Type set to HTML5 Canvas, so that our work could be saved and viewed online. We then had to design a robot character. We did this, by creating a new symbol, and then making different layers for our different body parts, and then bit by bit, we had to build up our robots. We had to experiment by using the different shapes and available tools, to learn how to use different parts within the software. I designed my robot character, using a range of shapes...

Theory Classes Semester A

03/10/22 In today's lesson, we learnt about the Transmission Model of Communication. In this,  we   first covered The Shannon-Weaver model, and what all of the words associated with it (Information Source, Transmitter, Channel, Receiver, Destination, and Noise), meant, and how they related to the model. We also learnt that this was made to be a mathematical model, however as we know, communication is not mathematical, as there are feelings and multiple meanings of things, depending on how it is said.  We also learnt about the definitions of Redundancy and Entropy, which are how predictable things within a message are, Redundancy being predictable, and Entropy being unpredictable.  After this, we covered the topic of Cybernetics and Synergy, Stafford Beer (A theorist who worked in this field), and Salvador Allende, who was the president of Chile from 1970-1973, and who worked on Project Sybersyn, which was used to collect data to try to create a more decentralise...

Christmas Break Work

Over the Christmas break, we had to finish working on all of the work that we had not yet completed, and then work on a questionnaire and create a Music Video. For our music videos, we could focus on any topic of our choice. This would show off the skills that we had learnt over our time of creating video, and would also allow us to build up our Premier Pro skills even further.  For my music video, I decided to document my life in pictures and videos that had been taken over the years, and put them to a song about time going forward, as I felt that this was very fitting for the subject. The song that I chose, was Night Changes, by One Direction. We then had to export these videos into our final movie files, making sure that they were exported with a DNX HQ 1080p 25 preset, so that we could submit them with the rest of our work. https://youtu.be/zLB8Tq89XAQ
