09/11/23 - Global Charettes Project And ACE

In today's lesson, we started with an early morning to do an intranational Teams call with the Malaysian and Egyptian campuses.

We did this, because we were starting a 2 week long project called The Global Charettes. For this project, we were put into groups across the three campuses, and together we would have to create a poster based on one of the given themes to present at the end of the project. My group decided that we wanted to base our poster on the theme of 'Cultural Differences'.

Due to the time differences, we didn't have loads of time to talk, but in the time that we had, we managed to arrange how we would come up with some sketches for the next Sunday, so that we could then decide on our final design to work on.

In the afternoon, our class had to attend ACE, which consisted of a One-on-one Interview, a Group Activity, and a Skills Workshop. The interview, although only for the skills practice, was based on a job description that we had to previously pick and research about. For my topic, I chose UI Designer, as it was the topic that I have had the most practice in, both within our classes, and within work that I've been working on at home. For the group exercise, we had to follow a brief within our team and present our ideas to the assessor, although my team lost track of time and although we came up with a lot of good ideas, we forgot to leave time to plan how we were going to present our work, but next time we will now how to improve. Finally, in the skills workshop, we covered how to write more positively about ourselves, and how to present confidently to improve our chances of being hired.
