16/10/23 - App Ideas Development and Personality Quiz

In today's first lesson, we had to show what ideas we had come up with so far for our apps, so I showed my logo design and the wireframe/prototype that I had created for my app.

However, as many of us were, I was advised to change the name that I had come up with "Euro Listen", as it was too long for a name, so after some thinking and discussions, I came up with "Eu-Eu" (Pronounced You, You).

I liked this name change, as it was much shorted and catchier, it gave the user some sort of personal feel due to the pronunciation sounding like the word You, aimed at the user, and after looking it up, the name was not used for anything else, as many other name suggestions had been.

Because of this name change, I also had to re create my logo, as I had used the name within it. I still have not come up with a final design yet, but I am working on it.

In the second session of the day, we started by beginning to look into our different personality types, to see how well we would work in our groups with different team roles.

We did this, by all taking a quiz on 16Personalities, to get our own personal results. According t the test, my personality type is INTJ-T. I have always been an INTP up until now, so I have changed slightly over the years, to become more judgmental than perceptive.

We then compared results around the classroom, and more specifically within our different groups, to see if we would be good working together.

Our group all had very similar results, as we were all considered Introverts, and most of us were Intuitive and thinking, and then half of us were more Judging, and the other half were more Perceiving. In the other group they were also all quite similar, however most were extroverted, compared to us all being introverted.

We looked at how this could help us and also how it could cause issues, such as how no one may want to speak up or take on a leadership role, however we may all work better as we all have the same ideas, although this could get a bit boring after a while.

After class, in the evening, a few of us went to the cinema to see The Exorcist: Believer. I thought this would be a good idea to get ideas for our horror game, as well as looking at the film production, and bonding as a group. The film was good in my opinion, and not as scary as I thought it was going to be.
