09/10/23 - PowerPoint Presentations and Team Practices Introduction

In today's first lesson, we each had to present to the class the PowerPoints that we had been working on throughout the week, about an app that we use that inspires us.

For my app, I chose Amazon Music, as it is an app that I regularly use and like the way that it is layed out as it gives me recommendations based on what I have previously listened to, as well as having a really nice design and colour palette.

It was really interesting to see everyone's presentations, as it let us know more about everyone and what apps they like to use in comparison to others.

In our second session of the day, we  began working on our Teamwork Practices module. 

To do this, we had to get ourselves into two groups, where we then picked a word from a list on the board, and the opposing team had to create a level on Super Mario Maker 2 for us based on that word. Our team chose the word Amusing, and the other team chose the word Long.

This was a good and fun way to start working in teams, as we all had to work together to add ideas to our game levels to make it harder for the other team. I think both of the levels fit their briefs quite well, as the Amusing one had many sound effects which were funny, and the Long one the character died a lot even though the level was possible, so it took quite a long time to complete, and felt very long.

After the class had finished, we also were allowed to play Mario Kart together, which was very fun.

07/12/23 - HTML And Figma Alterations

In today's lesson, we covered a more in depth overview of  the HTML coding language as a follow up from last week's lesson. We looked at html tags again, as a recap, and then went on to write our own basic html code in the notepad app. We then learnt about the different tags to change text to be bold and italicized, as well as how to highlight and sub/superscript text. After this, we learnt about character codes, and how to add links and images into our web pages. Following this, we looked into lists and tables, and finished off the work with how to comment on your code. After this, we were allowed to just work on whatever work we needed to do. For this, I was editing my Figma app, to add in a time and Wi-Fi, service, and battery icons. After I'd added these in, I had to slightly rearrange parts of my pages to all fit in better. 10/01/24 - Final Game Session

In today's lesson, I was working on my literature review, as I was for most of yesterday as well after receiving feedback within my morning tutorial. I was finding new sources to reference and add into my work, so that I could discuss the work of different people over many similar topics. However I then had the issue that I was way too far over the 1500 wordcount that I was supposed to be following, so I had to go through my previous work, and cut out or re-word sections that I felt were not as necessary for the overall message that I was trying to get across. In between my writing, I would go and see how the game finalisations were coming along, as Spike was getting ready to export the final game after fixing a couple of small bugs that we had found.

08/01/24 - Presentation, App Updates And Game Run-through

In today's first lesson, I was finishing off my presentation. Although I only had a couple of pages left to finish, I needed to ask some questions on how to complete these sections as I wanted to make them as accurate as possible. I then thought of another feature to add to my app, which was a premium membership subscription, so I had to create another page to represent google, as when you press the button it will open a new google page to buy a membership.  I added a few different options for the membership, so that people can feel like they have options, and even added in a student discount option so that students with a lower or no income feel like they are getting a good deal and will be more likely to buy the membership.
