16/02/23 - Generative Art Work
In today's lesson, we were looking at the software of OpenProcessing, which allows you to create artwork, fully made with code.
To begin with, we learnt some of the basics, such as how to draw a line, and some basic shapes, as we also had to learn that compared to a normal graph, where the bottom left hand corner is normally (0,0), on a computer screen, it is the top left hand corner that has these coordinates. We then used this information to create a grid of lines, which we were then taught how to fill in with colour, as well as changing the stroke colour and size. When creating this grid, I accidentally typed in the wrong code, however it created what I thought was quite an interesting curved grid shape.
After this, we got to work a bit with video, altering the effects on the screen to pixilate our faces and swirl around. This could then be used to track people to create work in that way, such as in the work created by Niklas Roy, whose piece "My Little Piece Of Privacy", we looked it during our lesson.
