13/10/22 - The Tea Piece Pt.2
In today's lesson, we began to edit our tea pieces. To start the day, we first had to transfer the video files from our phones, onto our computers, so that we could use them on our editing software Premier Pro. We then had to open these videos on the program, by creating a new project from the file that included the videos, meanwhile making sure that the new project was named and put into the correct file area.
We then had to alter our video clips to fit the correct format, meaning that we had to make them play 25 frames per second, at 1080p, as our phones did not film in these specifications. We did this, by clicking on one of our videos, and then pressing "Create Sequence from Clip". We then went to Sequence, and Sequence settings, where we changed the current settings to the ones we needed. We then had to export this new sequence, by making sure that the preset we had selected, was DNxHQ 1080p 25, and that the new file would be exported into a new file within our videos file, under the name DNxHQ. I then had to personally change the size of my videos as well, by when changing the Sequence Settings of a new Sequence from Clip, making sure that everything matched up to what we needed earlier, and then before exporting the new sequence, dragging the size Scale down, so that the videos fit inside the 1920x1080 box. I would then export the video, making sure that the specifications were what I needed, and exported the video into the DNxHQ file that I had made earlier on. I had to do this for all of my videos, so that they all fit into the same format.
After doing this, I then had to close down this project file, and open a new one, with the videos inside of the DNxHQ file, so that everything in the project fit the correct specifications for video playback. Once this new project was opened, we then had to choose a video clip, and same as before, create a new sequence from the clip, which would start our sequence of videos that we could add to.Throughout the rest of day, I then played around with what video clips I wanted in my sequence, and where I wanted them placed in relation to each other. I also had to cut some of the clips down to fit into the final video's 90 second time-limit better, and add some video effect to make the cut scenes look slightly better and less clunky.
After I had finished my video sequence, I received some teacher feedback about different video clips and camera angles that I should have included in my video sequence, so I had to go back home and film some more video clips to work on tomorrow.
