04/10/22 Illustrator Work
In today's lesson, we had to use Adobe Illustrator to create vector images.
To begin with, we started to just play around with the tools available on the software, such as the Selection, Pen, Shape, and Fill tools. By doing this and creating some random shapes, we were able to learn how some of the different tools worked, so that when we progressed to begin creating more professional work, we knew what we were doing.Later on in the day, we started to use the skills we had learnt earlier, to recreate the Apple logo. We did this, by using the ellipse tool, and the Anchor point tool, as well as some others, to trace the shape of the Apple logo, that we got from google images. We then had to use different opacity and fx effects, to alter what the logo looked like.At the end of the day, we began to use the techniques from earlier, to start creating a vector image of a coffee pot.
We did this in a very similar way to the Apple logo, by tracing the shape of an image, using the pen tool, and morphing some of the lines around to fit the shapes better.
Also, throughout the day, we learnt about other things, including hierarchy, alignments, and colour choices. We learnt how by the use of space on a page, different things can seem more or less important, such as using a big font size for the title, will bring attention to that, rather than other things, such as the actors' names, as they will most likely be in a smaller font.
